Responsibilities

 
  • Fundamental and Clinical research in Ayurvedic medicine on Diabetes Mellitus - Conducting Clinical Research on Ayurvedic medicines to prove the efficacy and safety of the same in its Antihyperglycemic action and on the complications of Diabetes Mellitus in accordance to ICH-GCP Guidelines, ICMR Ethical guidelines and Schedule-Y.
  • Epidemiological research to study the prevalence of alternative medicine for the treatment of Diabetes Mellitus and public awareness on alternative medicine and diabetes.
  • Clinical Co-Investigator for the clinical trials on Ayurvedic Medicines
  • Designing Protocol, Investigator Brochures, Case Report Form (CRF), Consent forms as per Schedule-Y and ICH-GCP Guidelines for new ayurvedic clinical studies.
  • Drug Development - Medicinal plant identification for the treatment of Diabetes Mellitus and its complications from classical Ayurvedic Texts that are subjected to clinical research by the method of Reverse Pharmacology.

  • In charge of the Inpatient and Outpatient Department including medicine manufacturing in small scale under the guidance of Dr. G. G. Gangadharan, Joint Director, FRLHT in the Ayurvedic Hospital and Research Center in FRLHT, Bangalore.

  • Co-Investigator in the Clinical Study conducted in FRLHT on the Efficacy of Ayurvedic Medicine in the management of Non Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus.
